Spiral Fluted Taps (also known as Helical Fluted Taps) are designed to provide efficient chip ejection in a wide variety of soft materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, magnesium, die casting metals, and steel in which stringy chips are generated. These taps are particularly useful in threading deep or blind holes, and in bridging keyways or other interruptions in the surface of holes being tapped.
